About Us

Main Street Ravenna is a 501(c)3 organization that was developed through the concerted efforts of members of the Ravenna community, made up of business owners, representatives of city government, and community members.

An Affiliate member of the Heritage Ohio Main Street Program since 2016, Ravenna became an official Heritage Ohio Main Street community in January of 2019. The organization focuses on the revitalization of the historic, downtown district of the City of Ravenna.

Main Street Ravenna aligns with Heritage Ohio and Main Street America‘s approach to downtown revitalization. All projects and programming are facilitated based on utilizing this strategy of Organization, Marketing, Design and Business Vitality in addition to reflecting the overall goals of the Ravenna Community Plan.

The Four Point Approach

Utilizing the patented Four Point Approach of Main Street America, Main Street Ravenna is working to create a thriving downtown district in four broad areas:

ECONOMIC VITALITY – focuses on capital, incentives and other economic and financial tools to assist new and existing businesses, catalyze property development, and create a supportive environment for entrepreneurs and innovators that drive local economies.

DESIGN – supports a community’s transformation by enhancing the physical and visual assets that set the commercial district apart.

PROMOTION - positions the downtown or commercial district as the center of the community and hub of economic activity, while creating a positive image that showcases a community’s unique characteristics.

ORGANIZATION - involves creating a strong foundation for a sustainable revitalization effort, including cultivating partnerships, community involvement, and resources for the district.
