Welcome to Ravenna

Earlier this year, Main Street Ravenna received 30 muralist portfolios in response to our call for artists. Our design committee carefully reviewed the submissions and selected three finalists. These artists were then invited to submit location-specific design concepts.

To ensure community involvement, a selection committee composed of local representatives reviewed the proposed designs and unanimously chose Lisa Quine as the artist for this project. Lisa, a highly accomplished professional muralist from our region, has created over 100 murals across six states and two countries. Most recently, she completed a mural at 8004 Lorain Avenue in Cleveland.

Lisa’s design was selected for its vibrancy and striking visual appeal. Her artwork features a raven, a thoughtful nod to the local district mascot. The design process commenced on the evening of October 17, with painting beginning the following morning.

Main Street Ravenna is thrilled to see this project come to life, made possible through strong community partnerships. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Salvation Army for providing parking space and to Megan’s Restaurant and its owner for their invaluable support.

This mural was funded through generous community donations and a grant from the Portage Foundation. Main Street Ravenna hopes this marks the beginning of more vibrant public art initiatives that will continue to enhance and welcome visitors to downtown Ravenna.
