Main Street Ravenna is a 501(c)3 that was developed through the concerted efforts of members of the Ravenna community, including business owners, representatives of city government, and community members. With a respect for history and an eye toward the future, in 2016 we contacted Heritage Ohio to begin the process of becoming a Main Street Program.
All of us are volunteers and partners who serve on the Board of Directors and working committees to implement our Mission Statement:
Celebrate and utilize downtown Ravenna to establish a place where businesses thrive and people create moments together.
Our 16-member Board of Directors provides oversight and sets strategies and goals to achieve its Mission. As we become a full Main Street Program, we will hire an Executive Director to manage the day-to-day operations and promote our community locally and regionally.
“The Ohio Main Street Program, administered by Heritage Ohio, works with communities across the state to revitalize their historic or traditional commercial areas. Based in historic preservation, the Main Street approach was developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to save historic commercial architecture and the fabric of American communities’ built environment, but has become a powerful economic development tool as well.”
